WHAT IS A TRANSFER OF EQUITY?
This is where you want to change the ownership of a property. For example, you might want to add your partner to the ownership of a property, or remove them. You might simply want to alter the ratio of ownership - perhaps from 75:25 to 50:50.

It is usually a straightforward process once it begins. It is important to first make sure that you have gained any permissions needed - for example your mortgage company will likely need to consent to the transfer, and might require that a new mortgage be issued to reflect the new ownership structure of the property.

Our lead property solicitor is Peter Skinner, ably assisted by Josh White and Suzanne Blessington.
