  • Lifting or manual handling – in factories, hospitals, care homes, offices
  • Construction Industry – falls from ladders & scaffolding, collisions with heavy plant vehicles, slips and trips over spilt liquids and discarded debris
  • Dangerous or defective machinery – burns, cuts, crushing injuries
  • Exposure to harmful and or dangerous substances – wherever and whatever they may be
  • Violent attacks – inflicted on Employees by patients or customers

Your employer must always do what is reasonable to ensure that you carry out your work in the safest possible way, taking into account the type of job you do, the equipment and materials you work with and the tasks involved
YOUR EMPLOYER
Employers need to ensure that the place, or places, where you work and their premises in general, are safe for their staff. It is important to remember that a workplace could be a van or car, if driving is included as part of the job.
COMPENSATION
Your claim for compensation will be greatly assisted if you:
  • Inform your employer, as soon as possible after the accident.
  • Make sure your accident is recorded in your company’s accident book.
  • Take details of any witnesses to your accident.
  • If a similar work accident has taken place previously, make a note of the circumstances and details of any witnesses and whether or not your employer was informed.
  • If medical treatment is required, you should attend Hospital or your GP’s surgery as soon as possible following the accident in order to have your injuries assessed and treated.
  • Seek legal advice as soon as possible, to find out if you are entitled to make a claim for compensation

Please note: Employees also must take reasonable care for their own Health & Safety. If we do win, we will charge up to 25% of the compensation you receive for your personal injury only.
NO WIN NO FEE
We act on a ‘no win no fee’ basis. If we don’t win or we tell you that we don’t believe we are going to win, we will not charge you for any of the work done. All we ask is that you deal with us honestly and provide accurate and truthful information at all times.

if we do win, we will charge up to 25% of the compensation you receive for your personal injury only. Some competitors charge their fee against all compensation recovered for you, such as vehicle damage, or lost earnings, we don’t think that is fair. Let us show an example of how our pricing differs from some other law firms:-

ACSL SOLICITORS FEE OTHER LAW FIRM XXXX FEE
Personal Injury = £2000 Up to £500 Up to £500
Vehicle Damage = £6000 Zero Up to £1500
Lost Earnings = £400 Zero Up to £100
Total = £8400 Total = Up to £500 Total = Up to £2100

Based on the example above, ACSL Solicitors will charge roughly £1600 less than some other firms. That’s more compensation going to you, as it should be.
