WHAT IS MEDIATION?
Mediation is a different way of resolving disputes, without going to court. In fact, the courts are increasingly punishing those who refuse to mediate before reaching trial. With an 86% success rate, everybody should consider mediating a dispute before going to court with it.

ACSL boasts three accredited mediators- Joseph Mulrooney and Josh White.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Mediation is often done in person at a neutral venue. The mediator will remain impartial and will use their skills to help the parties to focus on exploring a solution together rather than on arguing over who did what etc.

It is an entirely confidential and voluntary process, but if an agreement is reached at a mediation it will become legally binding once the parties put it in writing and both sign it.
WHY DOES IT WORK?
It has a massive 86% success rate in the UK. It works because it gives the parties a chance to speak openly and honestly in a confidential environment. The mediators presence helps the parties to overcome sticking points before emotions interfere with the process.

And because the parties agree their own solution it can be whatever they are happy with. Mediation solutions tend to be a lot more bespoke and flexible than what the courts can award.
